"Raising Ponies for Reagan"
Reagan Jo Hoadley was born August 8, 2002 and life as we knew it changed, for the good of course.  I had decided right away that she needed to be a horse lover like her mom.  Boy was that a new piece of information about me to her dad.  I went out and bought my first horse after 10 years without one, about the time Reagan was 7 mos. old.

Jasmine was a 3 yr old registered bay, breeding stock paint mare that was about 15.2 hands and had 30 days training.  I thought horse back riding was like riding a bike, boy was I wrong....

You see when I was a kid we always had horses and we were taught to ride bare back in all three gates before we could have a saddle and then I had to be able to saddle the horse my self if I wanted to use it.  So, I did not ride with a saddle much until I was in my teens since it was time consuming and heavy.  We were always on the horses.

When I got Jasmine I thought; I can do this, no problem.....  What a misconception that was.  So back to the trainers she went with me in tow, since it was clear that I could not sit a horse to save my life or should I say my butt.  Along with a week at my Uncles who put me back on the "old school training program" of all three gates bare back.  Finally we could get along well enough to go on a nice trail ride with out her picking the trail back to the house and me holding on for dear life.  She even was nice enough that Reagan had her first horse ride at 9 months old.

It wasn't long until I decided Reagan and Tamicka (my niece that also lived with us at the time) needed a pony.  Well after looking in the paper and on the web, I came upon an ad for a Pony of the Americas, also know as POA ponies.  So as the story goes, I went to get one and bought two.... the story of my life, as my husband would say.  I bought two yearlings and a nice older mare shortly there after.

Here we are five years later and I now own 10 POA's,  I just love this breed!  I hope you will take some time to enjoy our web site. I know you will fall in love with these wonderful ponies just like we have.
